Meetings, and more meetings
Next week should be interesting. We have Logan's parent teacher confrence and his IEP meeting. Now everyone knows about the parent-teacher confrence. But I am sure there are some that are wondering what the heck an IEP is? Technically, it is an Individualized Education Plan. This is kind of a guideline for teaching children with special needs. Since every child with a disability has different areas they need to work on this is put in place to make sure they get what they need. It specifies what type of therapies they recieve and how often. It also specifies the methods used to teach that child. So, hopefully that will go well. I think he is doing ok. He brought home another handwriting paper today. It looks like he is trying to follow the lines. I will take all the good signs I can get!! Another good one happened tonight. Zach had a musical program at school and Logan has a very difficult time at things like that. So I called and had the respite service cover Logan for tonight. Since he has a medical card we have to use respite services every so often, otherwise he would lose it. Plus by using this service Zach gets some time with Mommy and Daddy by himself. I know he knows the word autism. But he doesn't really understand what it means. Then again, how may seven year olds would? There are plenty of adults that don't. I don't know that I would if I did not experience it every day. There are still days I don't understand!! Anyway, Zach was a "cowboy" and did very well. Afterwards, we took him out for ice cream. Logan did good for the girl that stayed with him. So, all in all, a pretty good night. God bless to all.
