Two Weeks of No School

Well, the boys are out of school for two weeks! Zach will be ok. Hopefully, Logan will be okay after they go back. Throwing a child with autism off their routine can sometimes be a tricky thing. I am not sure how Logan will react. I guess I will just have to wait and see. He has been doing good lately in school so maybe he will be ok. Two weeks may be a long time for him. He has been putting the more and drink sign together for me for the last few days. Yeh!!!! Again, it may not sound like a big deal to the average person. However, when you have a non-verbal child this is a big step. So when you hear your child say, "Mommy" be glad to hear it. Maybe someday I will hear those come from Logan. That would be one of the sweetest sounds of my life. We have been trying to do what they do at school as far as "time outs". We will see how that works out here. We have a card taped to the wall that says, "Quiet, no screaming". Then he sits in a chair in a corner where he can see the card. I figured that once he gets quiet and stays that way for a couple of minutes he can come out. He has no concept of time so anything longer than a couple of minutes would not be a good idea. At least I think so. Well, wish me luck with it. God bless to everyone.
