More Therapy

Logan had speech today at Wendell Foster. He adapted to the therapist change better than I thought. She said he wasn't really vocal today but seemed more observant. Not really like he was distracted but kind of soaking things in. She asked me if he was receiving occupational therapy at school. He does but it is done as a consultation with the teacher. She asked one of the O.T.'s there today if she had Logan. They said they did not. They got to talking and were thinking of trying sensory O.T. with him. They really feel he would benefit from it. I told his speech therapist to go ahead and make the referral. Apparently, all they need to get started is a doctor's order. I don't think his doctor will have any problem with it. He has lots of sensory issues!!! At Wendell Foster they have a big room in the back called the sensory room, I think. There have been several times when Logan runs back there when he hears it is time to go. Plus, I think they have some new things back there. I think he would benefit immensely from that. He is one of those individuals who needs some one on one occupational therapy. It is good for the classroom to have someone consulting with the teachers. However, with his sensory issues I think their suggestion sounds great. Zach could probably use some sensory o.t. also but I think it is more important for Logan right now. Wish me luck and God bless to all.
