Woo Hoo

I am so glad that not everyone is ignorant where autism is concerned. I am on a social networking site that has various groups people can join. I got on the other day and there was a group that was titled, "Protection force for autistics against the anti-autistic group". The anti-autistic group was all about how big of a threat autistic boys are to young women. Needless to say, I was fired up and joined the protection force group. That group talked about how autistic boys are more prone to violence and are more likely to be rapists. Talk about someone's blood boiling!!!!!! Well, I got on it this morning and the anti-autism group is gone, history!!!!!! It made me think of the Wizard of Oz when they say, "Ding Dong, the witch is dead!" I am so happy that group is no longer there to spread their crap about boys with autism. I don't feel like Logan should be called "special" just because he has autism. I just want people to understand that autism is the reason for some of his behaviors and actions. And yes, he needs more help than the typical child. However, he needs the extra help in order to function in our society and be a part of it. I have no doubt that my sweet baby contributes to society. As the mother of a child with a disability (God, I hate using that word!!!) I have to fight extra hard to make sure he gets what he needs. Maybe that was one of the reasons God put me here. I don't know. However, you cannot tell me that an autistic boy is more of a threat than a typical boy. I think there are plenty of bad people in this world to back that up. God bless to all!!
