It is so cool when you get an e-mail from a teacher in the middle of the day! Yesterday Logan's teacher sent me an e-mail saying he had a HUGE breakthrough. She has been doing cards with him going over pictures and numbers. He was actually trying to say the words the other day. She could tell he was studying her mouth as she was saying the words. She would then reward him by giving him the card. That is soooo cool! For a kid who is non-verbal that is a huge step. It has to be pretty awesome for the teacher to send me an e-mail in the middle of the day. He is also putting number in order up to 85, at Thanksgiving he was only doing it up to 35. It is such a mystery to me that he can spell his name using letters but goes ballistic when I try to cut his fingernails. I called the doctor's office today and they said they would send over the referral to get the other therapy started. Yeh, that will be awesome for him. Maybe this new therapy will help relieve some of the sensory issues. I don't know what his deal was this morning. He crawled in bed with me around 3a.m. I thought he was going to fall back asleep. No such luck, he would get real still and I would think he was asleep then all of a sudden he would start screaming and crying. I have no idea why, and nothing I did solved the problem. I lay in the bed with him beside me crying and screaming. Then I laid there and started crying because I had no idea what was wrong. He yawned a few times so I assumed he was still sleepy. It sucks when your kid is upset and crying and you have no idea why. So how are you supposed to help them? You have no idea how many times I ask myself this question! It is even more difficult when the child has no words because then it is a guessing game. And there are times when it seems you never guess correctly. I guess he could be worse off though. God bless to all.
