Yesterday I got a call from Logan's teacher about mid-morning. She asked me if he had a history of seizures. I told her no. She said he was sitting at his desk doing a task and all of a sudden stopped. He got a blank look on his face and it is like he was staring off into space. They had a hard time rousing him, he seemed unresponsive. Great, something else for me to be worried about! They said they would keep an eye on him from their end and us do the same here. That's all he needs. Then I got to thinking, "Maybe I have missed something else". God knows we missed the first signs of the autism. I will try not to worry about it unless something else happens. Hopefully that is just something that goes along with the autism. That's what I have always thought anyway. It gets even better. She told me some of the progress he has made since the last parent teacher confrence. She says his only issue right now is his behavior. It has improved, but is still a problem. I don't know what I am expected to do. We are doing all we know to do from this end. She said he is a smart little boy but I knew that already. If it wasn't for the behavior he could be in a regular class. That he knows more than a lot of the kids in the regular kindergarten class! What I want to know is how would a regular class would work for him. He is non-verbal and uses a picture exchange system. They wouldn't have time to do that in a regular class. He needs the smaller setting otherwise it will be too much for him. I don't think a regular classroom will be on the agenda anytime soon though. God bless to all!!

Glad you're getting that feedback from the school, that makes for such a tremendous difference.
Around here my boys do have speech, in fact they have improved no end the last couple of years, but we still use PECs and Pec boards as scaffolding and prompts, they still prove invaluable.
AS for the seizures, we've been lucky in that respect but a couple of my close friends children are on anti-seizure medication, even after all this time.
Best wishes
