School's on!

Woo Hoo!!! The kids are going to school tomorrow. Maybe tomorrow my hubby can get some sleep while they are gone. He forgot to bring earplugs home so he didn't have much luck sleeping today. Logan was wound up and I think he is so ready to get back into the school routine. He, like most kids with autism, thrives on his routine. It has been so screwed up with all the stupid snow days! I also miss going to his school and volunteering. Hopefully, my hubby and I can go Friday and do just that. Besides that, the boys are getting on each other's nerves. I know sometimes that Zach just tries to help but it only makes things worse instead. When Logan has days like this where he is out for a couple of days at a time, he seems to get clingy. I honestly think he gets bored too. Today he found a Viewmaster in Zach's toy box and actually played with it. It kind of impressed me. If I had tried to show it to him he probably would not have been interested in it. I am just so tired of playing referee between the two boys. Maybe I won't have to anymore this week, at least until they get home. Some days are so much easier than others. I know that is the case for everyone. However, autism can sometimes make things so much more frustrating. We are really pushing Logan to try and tell us what he wants. Even if he repeats the request maybe that is a start. I think he is starting to anticipate that if he brings us an empty bowl we are going to ask him to tell us something. I am always hoping for progress and some days I get it more than others. I just have to hang tough and not give up!!!! God bless to all.
